Well, the diet is going moderately well. Fifteen pounds lost in the first three weeks, though this week it seems like a little is coming back. Even so, still happy with the progress. The outlook at work is interesting. The company is most likely going to be split up and sold off, but nothing much will happen for at least the next 3-4 months. We should get a chance to interview for positions at one of the two companies buying us out, and if we don't get one of those we will get a pretty decent severance package. All in all it could be a lot worse. I haven't quite decided what I want to do with the situation. I really don't want to work for one of the companies in question, so I'm still keeping my eyes open for other opportunities. For the time being things are going ahead as normal at work, the sell isn't a done deal yet, so its business as usual until they are sure its happening.
Mostly I'm concentrating on finishing school right now. I have two more classes to complete my bachelor's, so I'm taking them now and should be done by the end of April. They are essentially business and management courses where I'm learning about the importance of mission statements and how to cripple a project by using Microsoft Project. Doesn't really matter, I can spew back corpspeak with the best of them and get a passing grade. I'll be glad to just have the piece of paper so I can put it on my resume, definitely can't hurt my job search when the time comes. Unless of course they decide to check out the domain attached to my email address on my resume and read this blog. Then they find out I'm a cider swilling Celtaholic with complete and total contempt for the corporate world. Oh well, you post your bloggin and ya take your chances.
