Started the new job today, not really sure what to make of it, but I think it will be good. I'm still not sure what I will be doing yet, but the important thing was that the people there seemed to be happy and relaxed which means its most likely a decent place to work. The commute is a lot shorter as well and the traffic wasn't bad at all which is another plus. Started back to martial arts lessons last week. A previous sensei of mine just opened a new dojo last week. I was a little reluctant to join up because he has kind of come and gone a few times over the years, but he is a really good teacher and I like the style. He also signed a three year lease on the building, so he should be around long enough for me to at least reach black belt status. Of course that is providing I don't just drop dead before then. After almost two hours of class Saturday I can barely walk, bend over, or in general, move.
Best of all though, tonight feels like fall. All the rain has cooled things off and a nice wind is blowing. With the clouds its kind of dark and dusky. Its the kind of weather I love and a sign that the oppressive heat of summer is on the way out. With the KC Irish Festival, the Weston Irish Festival, and the Kansas City Renaissance Festival all in the next six weeks I'm really looking forward to the next couple of months.
