Rare Old Time

Today started out kind of rough, out in the cold at a quarter til 5 in the morning shovelling snow. Luckily the University I work for finally decided to close so I didn't have to go to work. I shovelled out my cars, my next door neighbor's, and a friend of ours about a block away. Took about an hour and a half. Didn't realize how cold I was til I got home, as I had orignally gone out in my pajama bottoms and a light jacket to shovel the snow out from around my wife's car and just never bothered to go back in and put on anything heavier. Luckily I was able to come in and crawl back into bed and take a nice nap. Tonight my favorite group, Brigid's Cross, performed a fundraising concert for the Children for Peace charity at the Notre Dame de Sion High School here in KC. Despite this being the first time seeing the band with both them and the audience sober, it was a great time. These guys just put on a wonderful show. It is also the only Christmas Concert I've heard where Wipeout was played. Bob Reeder waw also in attendance, though he didn't sing. Afterwards the band went to WJ McBrides, one of the local Irish pubs. Despite the fact that we both have to get up early my wife and me went as well and got a few drinks and something to eat. Since neitehr of us drink often we are both kind of lightweights, and my wife was quickly quite "happy". A good time was had by all. I will most likely regret it when the alarm goes off in the morning, but it was a blast.
