This was my first weekend in a month not spent sitting in front of the keyboard pretending to be a novelist. I started off Saturday by going to my martial arts class which I Had been neglecting. I then took my wife to Weston, MO for a candlelight tour of several historic homes in the town. That was the plan anyway. Weston is a quaint little town with lots of charm, reminds me quite a bit of Waterville, where I lived in Maine. We ended up spedning quite a bit of time just going to the shops and doing some Christmas shopping, then stopped off at the American Bowman Restaurant for dinner. Its a cool little restaurant coupled with O'Malley's Pub. A local Irish singer, Bob Reeder, was there playing. He was dressed in 1800's clothes and wandering around with his 12 string guitar playing Christmas music. As we were the only ones in there for a while we had a nice little private concert. The meal was great as well. After we were done shopping we went to the first of the houses to tour and saw a very long line. We decided that we were quite happy with just shopping and didn't want to stand in line for hours in the cold to tour the homes so we went home. All in all it was a very enjoyable day.
