Ronald Reagan passed away today (or actually yesterday technically speaking). Many of you (either or both) may be asking "So What?" I've always been a Reagan fan. He was the first person that got me interested in politics when I was a teenager, he had a charisma and charm that made me proud to be an American. I remember when he got shot and heard friends of mine say they would like to shake the hand of the man that did that. And even though I was only in the sixth grade, I remember realizing how wrong that kind of statement was.
I'm not going to waste many electrons talking about how great of a man he was, either you get it or you don't, nothing I say here will likely change anyone's mind. But in my opinion, he has been the greatest President of my lifetime. He and his family have had a long difficult road to travel, and now at last they may find some rest.
Reagan was President at a time when we still had heroes, something that perhaps we have now lost. I hope that his soul finds its peace.
Godspeed Mr. President
